Last week was UK Parliament Week (24-30 November). UKPW is a nationwide campaign designed to inspire students to learn more about our democracy and how Parliament works. It’s all about encouraging young people to get involved, ask questions, and understand the role they can play in shaping our future.
Richard said:
I was delighted to pay a visit to Christ the King College and The Island VI Form where I had the chance to speak with students from a range of year groups. They asked some brilliant questions which gave me the opportunity to tell them a little bit about my role as an MP and the work I do for Isle of Wight West.
Last year over 2.4 million people took part in every nation and region of the UK, and countries all over the world – with 8 schools from Isle of Wight West alone.
Although this year’s numbers have yet to be revealed, Richard is confident even more Island schools took part in #UKPW2025. And he’s already encouraging schools to get involved in 2026!
